Flow indicators are used in gas/liquid lines to ascertain that the flow of gas is taking place.

 

The advantage of flow indicator is without opening of pipeline you can find that flow is taking place.

 

Flow flap with scale is provided to guess the quantity of flow. But the quantity of flow cannot be measured by this method.

 

It helps in checking the health of process system/pipeline. Also it reduces the maintenance/ fault finding process.
